Carpenters Union Endorses Democratic Candidate Philip Murphy for NJ Governor

Edison, N.J., October 8, 2016 (Newswire.com) - In response to the decision by New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney that he will not be running for Governor, Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC) Executive Secretary-Treasurer John Ballantyne issued this statement:

"Steve Sweeney is a man of vision, heart and determination. Our union stood ready to do all that we could to help him in his consideration to become the next Governor of New Jersey. He chose to step down from that quest and now we stand ready to continue supporting him and his leadership as the New Jersey State Senate President.  We respect his decision and we continue to look forward to working with him in his capacity as President of the State Senate of New Jersey.  He has and will continue to be a strong voice for the working men and women in the state of New Jersey.
